FiiO showcase K17 R2R Pro - the compact, fuss free streaming headphone amp

FiiO today announces the launch of the K17 R2R Pro, a powerful, all in one desktop DAC, streamer and headphone amplifier engineered to deliver uncompromising sound quality with cutting edge functionality.

Building on the success of its predecessors, the K15 and K19, the K17 R2R Pro introduces a proprietary resistor ladder architecture alongside an extensive suite of modern connectivity and customisation features, designed for audiophiles.

At the heart of the K17 R2R lies FiiO’s proprietary 5 + 24 bit R2R PRO resistor arrays, a design choice that prioritises natural tonality, rich harmonic detail and a more analogue like listening experience.

Users can switch between NOS (Non Oversampling) and OS (Oversampling) modes, allowing for tailored playback that suits individual preferences and the source material. Whether pursuing ultimate fidelity or a smoother presentation, the K17 R2R can handle both with ease.

Complementing its advanced DAC architecture is a discrete Class AB transistor current boosting headphone amplifier circuit. Delivering a huge 4000mW + 4000mW of output power, the K17 R2R effortlessly drives a wide range of headphones, from sensitive in ear monitors to demanding planars, while maintaining clarity and dynamic range. Designed as a true all-in-one solution, the K17 R2R integrates DAC and amplifier capabilities with local playback and streaming media receiving. With support for QPlay, users can seamlessly stream high quality audio from compatible devices, while dual band 2.4G and 5G WiFi and Gigabit Ethernet ensure stable, high speed connectivity across a variety of environments.

The K17 R2R features a 31 band high precision parametric equaliser with Auto EQ functionality, enabling users to fine tune their sound signature with accuracy. Whether correcting headphone response or shaping audio to your personal taste, the K17 R2R Pro offers studio grade control in a user friendly format. You can access the PEQ via the FiiO Control app on smartphone or via a browser on a laptop and save them on the K17 R2R.

Enhancing its versatility further, the K17 R2R incorporates a USB ground loop isolator, effectively reducing unwanted noise and interference when connected to computers or other digital sources. This attention to detail extends to the internal power design, with a 35W low noise linear power supply ensuring clean, stable power delivery for optimal performance across all components.

A vibrant 3.93 inch touchscreen offers intuitive navigation and real time control over settings, playback and visual themes - VU meters included alongside a clock display. The interface is designed for responsiveness and clarity, providing a seamless experience whether adjusting EQ parameters or switching between inputs. For added convenience, the K17 R2R includes an aluminium alloy infrared remote control, delivering premium tactile feedback and full access to key functions from across the room.

The K17 R2R is engineered to serve as both a standalone headphone system and a central hub within a hi-fi system.
