The DX340 features a next-generation audio engine featuring a 1-bit discrete DAC configuration controlled by iBasso’s advanced FPGA-Master 3.0 system. This design ensures that music is reproduced with remarkable clarity, ultra-low distortion and exceptional timing precision that rivals larger, full scale desktop systems.
The DX340 supports the full spectrum of high-resolution audio formats, including PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD512 decoding. Whether it is delicate classical passages or explosive rock dynamics, the DX340 reveals every nuance with ease.
Dual Operating System
The DX340 offers a dual operating system experience. Users can choose between a pure audio-focused Mango OS for the most pure playback path possible or a full Android 13 environment for flexible streaming and app access. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, the DX340 operates smoothly. The storage can be expanded via microSD up to 2TB.
The 6.0-inch AMOLED display with 1080×2160 resolution is vibrant and responsive. Navigation is fluid and intuitive, while the interface ensures quick access to playback controls, settings and audio filters without distraction.
Modular Amplification
The DX340 elevates performance with its modular AMP architecture. The standard AMP15 module delivers industry-leading output power and low noise, capable of driving a wide range of headphones from sensitive in-ear monitors to full-size over-ear models. Users can upgrade to alternative AMP modules as new options become available to tailor the sound to personal preference. The DX340 interchangeable amplifier cards are compatible with multiple amplifier cards, such as the AMP1X series, AMP12, AMP13, AMP14 and will also be compatible with other AMP1X series amplifier cards that will be released in the future.
For flexible connectivity, the DX340 includes balanced and single-ended outputs, coaxial output, USB OTG support and wireless options including Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band Wi-Fi. This mix allows the player to function seamlessly as a hi-res transport, wireless source or USB DAC.
Premium build
Housed in a robust stainless steel chassis and weighing just 486g, the DX340 pairs premium build quality with practical features such as replaceable dual batteries that deliver up to 11 hours of continuous playback. Its substantial form factor reflects its performance-oriented design while maintaining a timeless aesthetic. The DX340 is powered by iBasso's patented dual-battery architecture, in which the digital and analog sections are powered by separate batteries. The independent power supply can ensure the stability of the headphone amplifier's power supply and effectively isolate the electromagnetic interference of the digital part, significantly reducing the deterioration in sound quality caused by an insufficient power supply. At the same time, we have further optimised the dual electrical architecture of the DX340, unified power management, charging, and power display, and used a single icon display. When the DX340 is connected to a fast-charging outlet with sufficient power, it is powered by an internal battery and is completely independent of the power supply.
Pricing and availability
The iBasso DX340 is now available in the UK from Advanced MP3 Players at £1499. The limited edition titanium version is £1899. US pricing is set at $1699 for the standard version. Review samples are available now.
