DALI launch GARDIAN OW 6 and PHANTOM M-80 A speakers

The GARDIAN OW 6 is a purpose-built outdoor on-wall loudspeaker and the PHANTOM M-80 A is a discreet ceiling-mounted speaker.

GARDIAN OW 6

The GARDIAN OW 6 is a waterproof, coaxial, two-way on-wall loudspeaker designed specifically for outdoor living. It combines durability with high-fidelity audio.

At its heart lies a 133 mm (5¼-inch) low-loss bass/midrange driver, paired coaxially with a 25 mm soft-dome tweeter. This coaxial alignment ensures symmetrical dispersion, delivering even coverage horizontally and vertically. Listeners across patios, poolsides or roof terraces hear consistent detail and balanced tonality.

Bass is extended through twin 130 mm auxiliary bass radiators (ABRs). These oval passive units maximise radiating area without requiring open ports, preserving a sleek, sealed cabinet that resists water. Tuned to 52 Hz, the ABRs deliver an impressive low-frequency extension for a speaker of its size which is perfect for background music.

Polypropylene cones with low-loss rubber surrounds resist moisture, UV, and temperature stress.
The tweeter incorporates a Neodymium-Iron-Boron magnet system for precise, detailed highs, while maintaining waterproofing.
Voice coils use Kapton formers, derived from DALI’s flagship EPICON series, ensuring efficiency and power handling even in demanding conditions.

The GARDIAN’s cabinet is constructed from lightweight, foamed polypropylene which is rigid, washable, and low-resonance. Its painted, corrosion-resistant grille withstands salt air in coastal environments, while remaining visually discreet. Available in black or white, the speaker blends seamlessly with modern architecture.

An IP67 certification confirms resistance to dust and water immersion, while expanded UV and chlorine testing assures reliable performance near pools and in full sun. Operating temperatures from −20 °C to +70 °C guarantee year-round durability.

A newly developed Click ’n’ Connect bracket aids installation. The lightweight bracket is mounted first, with cable connections made easily via spring terminals and concealed routing options. The loudspeaker then locks into place with a simple twist, automatically engaging its terminals. Installers benefit from reduced strain, while the finish is neat.

With a wall clearance of only 206 mm, the design minimises protrusion while still allowing full bracket articulation.

A built-in PTC overload protection system safeguards the drivers against misuse, while hand-selected crossover components guarantee consistency and reliability.

From residential settings such as gardens, patios, pools, spas and gyms, to commercial venues like hotel bars and restaurants, the GARDIAN OW 6 adapts effortlessly. It supports stereo, multi-zone, or multi-channel outdoor home theatre configurations.

PHANTOM M-80 A

The PHANTOM M-80 A in-ceiling Hi-Fi speaker combines the best of DALI electro-acoustic design with angled directional dispersion to provide genuine high-end Hi-Fi performance where in-ceiling speakers are required in the home.

With a DALI designed and SMC equipped 7 inch bass/mid driver and a 28 mm soft dome tweeter, the M-80 A is a high-end DALI speaker for the ceiling.

The DALI PHANTOM M-80 A is equally suited for stereo and home theatre systems where great sound quality is a high priority.

The PHANTOM M-80 A in-ceiling Hi-Fi speaker incorporates a 7 inch bass/midrange driver, angled at 25°, to provide sound radiation that is preferentially beamed in one direction. Preferential beaming enables M-80 A speaker placement that ensures optimum dispersion for the specific audio installation to maximise sound quality at the listening position. The M-80 A also features compass style direction indicators further to configure dispersion to suit the installation.
